Let me see if I got this right:

1. OP starts a thread about USPS tracking.
2. OP means, Delivery Confirmation.
3. OP ignores those who point out his error.
4. OP continues to whine about tracking.
5. OP still doesn't get it.
6. OP own self.

Is that about right?

Sorry to bring this back up from the dead, but from experience, isn't the website supposed to say that the item was accepted at the given P.O.? I recently bought something and the seller shipped First Class (I know..) and got DC with it. Everytime I ship, when I enter the DC number, it usually says that the item was accepted, but this time it says that there is no record of the item. Is this normal from USPS? Thanks and LMK.

Well even delivery confirmation is quite a stretch.....

Ordered a book online and got the "confirmation number" for USPS. Their system says it was delivered 2 weeks ago on a day that I was home the entire day and I have seen nothing. Not to mention that the other 2 books came the following day.

What a crock

USPS jacked up all their rates....the least they could do is give us a simple tracking system like UPS or Fedex...

Uhhh... it's called asking for opinions. I know that DC sucks, but it's worked for me all the other times (that's right, it worked, and I also know that it's DC, hence why I called it that instead of USPS Tracking...).

He may have used the free delivery confirmation available online or an online postal service to generate a printed label with a delivery confirmation bar code included, and from what I have witnessed over time, those do not generally show any activity until it is delivered, mainly because they are not scanned when they enter the USPS delivery system, only after they have arrived at their destination(delivered). Whereas when you buy and attach an actual green DC label the PO usually scans them into the USPS delivery system from the start, which is why they show acceptance. I have stuck with attaching an actual green DC label and paying for the service for just that reason(I like for the recipients to be able to see that the item is in fact on its way to them).

My $.02

Thanks for the helpful info :). I think the person that shipped my items purchased the green DC label but w/e, I guess time will tell whether he shipped the goods or not. The price was outstanding for the items, so I asked him to ship first so I'm not out anything if I don't get it. If I do get it, I'll let you guys know what it is :).
