Damn you, clear channel :(

So it looks like clear channel cleaned house at a local sports radio station in Detroit (WDFN) and replaced it with national syndication crap.

Has anyone heard of effective means of getting local stations back? I'm sure it's a long shot, but has anyone heard of grassroots efforts that worked?

My wife works for Clear Channel (and avoided the mass layoffs today), but unfortunately she has no pull whatsoever.

Highly doubtful. Clear Channel is going private, these cuts are part of that, so I doubt they're worried about a few fans in a market where they obviously thought they weren't making money. Plus, Clear Channel is on a hiring freeze right now nationwide from what I gather, so any further additions is improbable.

Media ad revenue is in the toilet right now. When you hear this is the worst recession since before WWII, they aren't kidding.
