So, I have had a pretty bad week so far and took some Advil for the wonderful headache that now exists. Not stress really. Mostly irritation caused by irrational coworkers (someone higher than me making stupid decisions type of story)
Of course, my original plans were to drink myself silly tonight. But Advil+alcohol = badness.
Just a mini-rant I guess. More details in note below.
NOTE: The irritation at work is being caused by a guy in retirement mode that thinks he is making the correct decisions with software development. I have 10 years experience and at this point I am realizing that I know what I am talking about. My thoguhts on how to get things done will result in meeting a firm deadline 12 months out. His plans call for total failure. There simply is not time to do what he wants to do and alot of what he wants to do are what I call "exercises in futility". Instead of saying "doing we need to do this" he says "lets do this". He has reasons but they are not wonderful reasons when you have a firm deadline to deal with. These acts eat up 2 weeks here and two weeks there and in the end we will all be screwed. I'm now starting to realize why his last project ended up over budget and 12 months late and the thing is still not totally done yet. Normally, I could go to my supervisor but since he is married to each other that causes problems.
Also, does anyone here know what a Lite version of an application infers? Of course, the opposite must be Heavy right? Yes, a software engineer at a top of his game!
