Guys this thing is about to drive me insane. I can not logout of the forums for nothing. When I want to logout I click the button and the page refreshes and guess what, it still says logout and my pm tab and forum polls tab disappear. This has happned to one of my friends also and he can't fix his either. My system consist of a duron 800 and MSI K7T Turbo mobo if that helps any, doubt it 🙁 Is there anyway to reinstall IE6 or something b/c the only thing that I can do to get the logout symbol to go away is to clear the internet cache and cookies and that only last once and then the problem occurs again. I know that the buttons are .cfm (coldfusion I think) but I am not sure. Do these file types have a hard time in XP or something?? Ran win2k for 2yrs. and never seen it do this. Thanks and please lmk if their are fixes

The cfm are coldfusion an dno there is no issue with XP or any other OS, they are processed on the server not on the client so the only thing you browser sees is HTML.

I would consider reinstalling IE if the problem continues, are you running XP RC or beta?

I am running the full retail version. The damndest thing happened, I used system restore to a previous backup date and it fixed itself. I used the system restore once in WINME and it was worthless, maybe MS has actually figured something out. How can you reinstall IE6 when it is intergrated with the OS, is it possible??? Thanks for all the post and bumps

Download the IE setup launcher app and tell it to reinstall, you will have to put up with it downloading all the files though. If it's working then I would leave it alone though.

Intergrated is a bad word, included is better as you can remove it (even though they don't supply an uninstall 🙂 ).

I wouldn't recomend uninstalling all of IE even if you don't like it, many utility and applications make use of several libs and libaries that are part of IE for Network comms, crypology and as their own 'mini-browser' (Winamp and Eurdora are both examples of this). The reason is that the included libaries are free, included on all windows machines and are fairly powerfull (not mind blowing though).
