Damn, this Logitech MX700 sucks up the batteries!

I just got mine in the mail yesterday and charged it for a few hours. It's already dying on me. No wonder they included a charger with this thing, it sucks the batteries like there is no tomorrow. I guess they didn't worry about power management when they designed this thing?

Great mouse btw. Though, it's gonna take a while to get used to the feel of it.

Mine either. I've used it for 8 hours straight and never had a problem.

I've also left in off the charger for 2-days straight (w/o being used) and it's worked just fine after that.

I never put it on the charge till I get the blinking red light....prolly every 2 weeks or so.

I forget to put mine in the charger all the time. I don't remember ever seeing the light blink.

Put the damn thing in the charger when you're not using it....DUH!!!! :p

That's like saying "Well, my gas guage is on E...I wonder why???"

If I remember right when you first put it on the charger your supposed to fully charge it, like leave it on atleast 8 hours or something. I just remember seeing a sheet in the box saying something like that.

i put mine on the charger, and it blinks green, i leave it on there all night, in the morning its still blinking then when i take it off it isnt charged and blinks red, something is wrong with my chrager :(

If you think it's dying because the mouse is moving slow, yet when you charge it, it is green, or blinking green here is a simple hack I found. For some reason the Logitech drivers suck in Windows XP, you have to pretty much use dirty hacks to get any of the features you want working. Open up your task manager, then kill the process called: "EM_EXEC.EXE" and then run the "Logitech Mouse Properties" program. Close it once it opens, and presto, your mouse is restored. This really pisses me off that Logitech cannot create better drivers than this, but oh well.

Yes, but I brought it to work and didn't bring the charger (only the cradle). I probably used it for 6-8 hours yesterday.

Maybe I just didn't get a good charge? Or maybe the batteries are bad? I traded another member for it.... I'll replace the batteries with some 1800mah nimh batteries I have and see what happens.

Does that mouse "respond" instantly to mouse movement if it's been idle a while? I don't like how the MS mice do that....

keep an extra set of AAA on charge in a battery charger if your worried. thats the convenience of using standard battery types:p

Yes, it's more responsive than the Wireless Explorer that it's sitting next to on my desk. Though, I do like the overall feel of the Wireless Explorer better. JUst because I'm used to it.

I just set my friend up with one in XP and he doesn't have any problems.

Then he probably doesn't take advantage of all the buttons, I've done this on too many machines for it to be a coincidence.

I use XP Pro with an MX700 and use all the buttons regularly. I have never had the problem you describe, or any other issue whatsoever with the mouse.

Logitech drivers do suck. Use the MS ones. Not like you can use the buttons anyway. They are poorly positioned.

your first day, you're supposed to let it charge the full day to let the batteries find their maximum.
