OK, so it's like this.
My mother was one of those die-hard Y2K survivalists. You know, spending literally THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of dollars on buckets of fscking GRAIN, OATS, and flour grinders, dried this and that, around 8-55 gallon drums for filling up with water and gas/oil, 5,000+ electricity generator wired throughout the house, etc. Now, of course, she has wind of some kind of chemical attacks on the US, particularly around Chicago. So, she now must stock up on GAS MASKS, fill holes in the walls, cover up vents, clean out the house and such, fill up the ol' barrels again and hide them in the basement...
WTF is wrong with her? When I told her how she doesn't need to do this for Y2K, her repsonse? Something to the effect of "It's not your money, so why should you care?"
Arrrrgh....yes, there is a possibility. But if there is radioactive material spread all over our houses, water and gas masks isn't going to keep us all alive.
