Do you really expect them not to?

One can hope!

And in addition, I hope Congress eventually self-imposes...

1) Term limits (two).
2) No salary (only get reimbursed for food, rent in DC area, and travel expenses to home state/district. Job should be voluntary for the good of their constituents.)
3) Refuse all additional benefits, including health care...such that they would be forced to experience what everyone else does instead of their perfect health care.
4) Be required to file their own taxes every year on their own without additional help, aside from a calculator and maybe TurboTax software. No accountants!

As someone who lives in a state where term limits were enacted for our legislature 10 years ago, its been a complete and total failure. Things went from bad, to much much worse.

Or the infamous "lobbyist reform" legislation. The only "reform" that would happen would be to change the term "lobbyist" to something different, like "Industry Representation, Persuasion, and Kickback Specialist."
Ending lobbyist donations would deliver a major pay cut to politicians. How do you think some of them wind up getting so wealthy? It isn't from their official salary, I can tell you that much. Or why would some of them spend millions of dollars of their own money to get a job that won't ever pay (legitimately) that much throughout that person's entire tenure there? - major kickbacks from businesses. It won't ever go away, at least until citizens put the "fear of God" back into their politicians. I'd suggest serving some lovely cocktails to them - Molotov cocktails that is, but outright advocating that probably wouldn't go over well.
