Damn the Spam!

What's with the spamming industry today? Are Mondays just a typically productive day for spammers or is something in the water today? My inbox is getting hammered today.

/brief Monday rant

Getting hammered in my primary account at home (Mindspring). The irony is that I use my Yahoo account primarily for anything I sign up for (freebies, online purchases, etc.) just because I don't care if I get spam there but I NEVER get any at that address...lol. I don't get a lot at work either but my Mindspring account for home gets hit hard.

My spam protection is on Medium:

Known spam Blocking ? Medium Protection
Known spam is intercepted before it reaches your Inbox. By default, Known spam is deleted immediately, but you can choose to have it redirected to your Known spam folder. Learn more

I can only go up one more level but I prefer not to because it blocks anything not in my address book. I do some selling/buying with individuals and I don't want to miss an email because my settings don't recognize the address. I usually only get a handful of junk mails each day but I've had a ton today for some reason.

Yahoo has great spam blocking (not sure how accurate it is but it at least stops a lot of spam), as does GMail (which does a good job filtering spam to the spam folder). I'm not too sure about other mail providers, though.

Have you put down your email address anywhere online where a spambot can see it?
