Damn the Price of Rice and Oatmeal

Luckily now, I live only 6 blocks to work, can walk and not deal with driving and paying for gas/tolls.

But having to pick-up a 50 bag of rice for $48 the other day and then just walking over to Wholefoods and picking up a 50lb bag of oatmeal(for the dogs) for $66, WTF!!!! The oatmeal used to go for $.89/lb and has been like that for years. But it just jumped up to $1.39/lb.

Fortunately, these things will last me a good while but it's shocking to see how big of a jump in prices things have gone up.

Yup, check any good dog food, it has oatmeal. Great source of fiber and I like to supplement my dogs' meal with an extra cup.

Interesting that WF is the cheapest place to buy bulk* oatmeal.

* OP is buying > 10lbs and the bag can be fashioned into the shape of an alternator.
