I have not run into any problems with Kazaa. What is this virus you speak of?

It's a pretty lame virus. Here's how it works.

You download a bogus file, click on it, and the screen does some mezmerizy stuff and sends you subliminal messages to send me all your money. As you may not have already figured, it doesn't work as I'm still poor... :)

I'll leave it the way it is ;)

lol, I realize how stupid I am sometimes... ugh. I'm not blonde but I swear I'd pass for one anyday if I ever turned to the bright side...

Maybe I just wanted to see norton catch another damn virus ;)

And for the record, I meant link to some sites containing info on the virus...

I got that stupid Benjamin worm yesterday. It's actually pretty easy to get rid of. Just CTRL-ALT-Delete and find the process Explorer.SCR and end it.(this is for Win XP) then search for and delete the file Explorer.SCR, then if it has already copied itself delete the folder windows\sys32. After that you should be clean.

Will normal AV software detect this or is there somewhere I can get scanned to make sure I don't have it? (I have The Cleaner.)

Harvey Keitel is at your house right now!!?!?!?!?!!

Actually, I use McAfee's web-based agent currently. Of course, thanks to my own stupidity, it didn't do diddly squat for me against this one.....GRRR! :|

Pretty much any AV software should find Benjamin (assuming the virus defs and engine are up to date, of course).

ME and XP can get reinfected if a copy infiltrates the "System Restore" directories!

Check here for info about Benjamin.
Check here for additional removal steps under ME/XP.

I did an update for The Cleaner and I still didn't see Benjamin listed in the database. Should I scan my system somewhere else?

I will do the scan in just a minute. Thank you. I have another question.... How can I trace an IP?

traceroute "ipaddress" (on unix)

think it is tracert "ipaddress" on windows or something like it..

I can also go to symantec and they have a java app that will do it as well(Much prettier)
