Damn spyware.......help me fix my comp...

I think some p@rn sites installed some sh*t on my comp, and now Im getting pop ups everywhere, even with crazybrowser. I ran adaware twice and the sh*t keeps happening. Two pop ups come up. One is a window for some weird search engine. And the other is a little popup telling me spyware has been detetced, click here to fix...etc etc. What do I do, because It's getting very annoying.

Wow, you're the 3rd person in past couple of days to have this problem. Search for the user "Schadenfroh." THere is a link in his signature on how to get rid of spyware and adware. Running Ad-Aware and Spybot is not enough.

I just downloaded, installed, and tried to run spybot and when it tried to run the program, I got the error message:

"This program has been damaged, possibly by a bad sector of the hard drive or a virus. Please reinstall it."

I downloaded and installed it twice already....

What now?

for 95% of spyware it is more than enough.

People need to harden thier systems a bit first.

Change IE privacy setting so you can block 3rd party cookies.

Add a pop up stopper or Google toolbar.

Empty your browser cache before you scan. Delete temp files.

Use an Anti Virus prog and keep it updated.

And finally don't click yes to those dam installers.

PS: use Mozilla or FireFox instead.

Uninstall it and delete any foldrs.

Re-install it.

Run your AV scanner first.

Also look for progs in Add/Remove that you didn't install.

Adaware+Spybot+CWShredder+Hijack this+antivirus program of your choice = spyware clean.

And STOP visiting porn sites.😉

Use firefox. (assuming you haven't tried already) Also have you shut off the Messenger service? (it's not the Windows messenger chat program....) If not that could help too.
