Grrr...this freaking blizzard is affecting my vacation.
I'm driving to Florida for my vacation to see my family (why? I don't know). So for the last week or so I'd been planning to leave Sunday and take a few days to get there. But then I got lazy, and all my stuff wasn't ready, so I decided to make it Monday. I'm in no rush. Then I started hearing about the horrible blizzard we're going to get (in Massachusetts), and what I heard was that it would start Saturday night, so I figured I'd made the right decision to wait till Monday.
So Sunday morning rolls around, the light layer of snow that fell has already melted away, and it's a nice day. No blizzard. Oh, so now they're saying it's going to start Sunday night and go through Monday evening. So, okay, maybe Monday's not going to happen, maybe I'll leave Tuesday. Then at some point I hear that it won't start till late Monday, so I figure maybe I'll be able to leave and get away from the area before it hits, so I try to get up a little early and see what it's like. Naturally I don't get up early, and I haven't even packed yet.
So I get up, thinking I'll pack my stuff and start the drive. I check weather.com, and the blizzard to rival the one in 1978 is now forecast to last THROUGH Tuesday evening and clear up Wednesday. And it's supposed to start getting heavy on Monday afternoon.
Now, given that I can't get out of the state by the afternoon, especially since I still have to pack AND since traffic is going to be a royal bitch because god forbid people learn to drive in snow, I'm pretty much stuck here till Wednesday. Which means the amount of time I'll have to drive to Florida, spend time there, and drive back, has been severely reduced.
The only good things are: I don't necessarily have enough to keep me occupied in Florida for more than a few days anyway (I get bored with my family); and it'll be cool to see 3 feet of snow.
