You put the butt of the rod in that little thing....it helps give you leverage when you are fighting big fish....:)

LOL. That's a harness. I knew someone would comment about that. You put the butt of the rod (har har) in it to make fighting those damn big fish easier. I'm still pissed I couldn't go :|

You can see it being used in Pic #6, but the boat's rod holder (har har) is blocking it.

At least I got some good tuna steaks. :)

What Jmman said. It's to hold the butt of the rod so it doesn't dig into your leg or your "middle" leg. ;)

I think this thread could use one of those ever-popular &quot;...smells like fish&quot; jokes, but good taste prevents me from doing it.
