i am using a raite 8x dvdrom (40x cdrom). i rip my audio cds into mp3 using creative digital audio center. i am running a C400 @ 540 mhz and 256 mb ram.

when i try ripping audio cds, initially there would be no problems, either when i try to rip too many tracks at one time (around 6), or at the end of the process of ripping the entire cd, the dvdrom would start to spin down and spin up, and so the ripping progress stops and gets interrupted. once or twice i would get blue screens with:

An exception 0E occured at 0028:C003157D in VxD ---. This was called from 0028:C181B139 in VxD ---. It may be possible to continue normally.

i could get out of this blue screen and my computer will not hang, but needless to say the ripping process was interrupted badly, and the resultant mp3 was a piece of crap.

anyone has any idea why this is happening? i have posted a similar question before but i didn't mention the exception last time.

thanks!

Sounds like your DVD player don't like rippin huh... Well This mite sound stupid but when you let it copy do you just leave everything as it is and the mouse is inactive and not moving? Well if you do that then try this... Sometimes works for my laptop for some reason I don't know. But move the mouse around the screen and click on the top bar now and then, like every 150-20 seconds maybe move it click and let it rest and then do it again. I know it sounds stupid but give it a go maybe it might just work!

Good Luck,

SKY.
