Damn PIO I want UDMA

Why an't my Iomega(sanyo) 12x8x32 CD-RW detect as UDMA. IT will only show as PIO by BIOS I have tried setting it as cable select, master, slave on all four ide ports on my motherboard(EP-8kta3+). The BIOS only gives an option for PIO auto and UDMA auto.

I've also tried on another machine and the same damn thing. Is my drive defective or does it not support UDMA?

If anybody knows how to fix this problem, please help.

Hmm. My "old" Sony 8x4x32x shows as UDMA33. Maybe yours only does PIO4, but I would think it should do UDMA33. What do the specs say?
