Damn pimples when shaving one side of the face

I wash my face every day with facial wash but i keep getting pimples on one side of my face where i have facial hair. The other side is cool, but it seems after every shave, pimples show up. it annoys me like crazy. i dont use shaving cream, would that help? or maybe i need a new thing for my electric razor.

Use better soap and only shave right before you take a shower.

ive tried neutrogena and clearasil and they both dont help. and yes, i only shave before i shower. maybe shaving cream would help.

I had that too, and then i changed the direction in which I was shaving, made a HUGE difference.

edit: and I prefer to use shaving cream

You're probably inadvertently touching that side of your face throughout the day for some reason.
Usually it happens when people hold their head up with their hand while sitting down.

hmmm could be because it's always the right side that i hold up throughout the day.
gonna switch soap and add shaving cream to the mix. but then again, as long as i wet my face prior to shaving, i shouldnt need any shaving cream, no?

Thats not soap.

All I use is soap but very good soap and I never have any problems anymore like I use to.

Touching your face will make you break out badly. When I was younger I would hold my head up in classes, and that side broke out a lot.

Yes, use shaving cream, preferably a sensitive skin brand. I'm not sure why you would ever shave without shaving cream, unless you're stranded in wyoming or something.

Just never thought of using it. I just wet face, shave and wash my face in the shower.

Try shaving cream, I never use it but it certainly helps if you have problems.

If the pimples are caused by something else, go to acne.org and get some tips.

I don't even wet my face before shaving.

Use alcohol or other disinfectant on your razor and use aftershave immediately (or during if you take a while) on your face. I also use balm to keep my skin from drying out.

That's because you use shaving cream.

I found that the best thing for pimples is regular antibacterial soap. The orange stuff is fine. Anything made to be gentle and all that will have moisturizing oils, which makes it worse. Also, wash your pillowcase every week.

Why does only one side of your face have facial hair though? That's bizarre

Edit: Also, to prevent scarring, one website recommended piercing the pimple with a sterilized pin (after it has turned white) and squeezing out all the pus and blood, then cleaning it with lemon juice (or maybe it was lime).
