EDIT: seriosuly, beside DVDs, downloading HDTV would be the only thing that it would be good for...assuming that I was able to get an account on torrentbits, that would kickass!

Oh well. Time Warner recently upgraded their download speeds to I think 5mbps or so. I just reset my modem and noticed I was getting faster speeds. 6.4MB/sec....that is ridiculous.

I'm pretty sure it's OC12...I can't find websites that will let me download much faster than that....in other words, I'm pretty sure my download speed is limited by their upload speed

I think he was talking about your connection

6.24MBytes/s is 49.92Mbits/second.

That is faster than a T1 at 1.5Mbps and a t3 at 45Mbps. THe only thing faster that most business might use is an OC3 at 155Mbps or an oc12 at 655Mbps. We are of talking of course concerning backbones for large enterprises.

If IF your co. had an oc3 Mr. Scott, I doubt any admins would let http or ftp use ALL of it 45out of 655 ain't a bad combination though
