damn, one of my new 2005FPWs has a backlight leak in 3 corners

i just need to vent...im not really pissed, but it is definitely noticeabe and annoying. they are both A02, so i thought this wouldnt happen. i guess i was wrong.

My replacement will be here tomorrow, but knowing Dell, it's going to have either a dead pixel, backlight leakage or both.

WOW! mine is not nearly that bad...that is friggin horrible!!! im sorry man

i dont see what everyones problem is with dead pixels, though. the backlight issue is annoying, yes, and dead pixels are no fun, but they arent very noticeable at all...there are a few on my laptop and i hardly ever see them. neither of my 2005FPWs have one that i can see yet, but im not even worried about that...its this backlight madness.

Ouch, thats terrible. Mine is no where near that bad, and only noticeable on a solid black background.

*shrugs* It can happen to anyone, and not just with dell. I personally was lucky enough to not have any of the problems that can happen with one of these. Dell will replace it for you no problem though so I wouldn't worry about it. They will even ship the new one before you have to send the old one back. So keep sending it back till you get one you like, although I doubt you will have to more than once.

:roll: no way. CRTs suck in almost all facets compared to LCDs. the backlight leakage with mine is only noticeable on all black screens and its not bad at all. i just felt like venting about it, but you can barely see it. the sleak and clean look of an LCD is irreplacable. i would never go back to CRTs.
