Damn, Office XP has already been warezed, and the protection cracked according to ZDNET

I thought that they were supposed to have some super high-tech protection scheme in Windows XP and Office XP that looked at your hardware configuration and made up product ID's and all sorts of crap like that?

Now this is REAL news (maybe not really because I knew this would happen, but this something to laugh at).!!! (j/k)

No code is unbreakable. 😉

it wasn`t cracked. just an internal all authorisation key ;-) never expires or phones home. kinda like corporate.

it was released yesterday when they signed off on the FINAL build.

wonder who inside m$ it came from 😉

I don't know who M$ is trying to fool. They make enough damn money as it is already. They own more the 80$ of the market, with Windows, what the hell do they think they?re going to accomplish with that WPA crap?

***Disclaimer*** I don?t use pirated software, but I think it?s just dumb there?re butting so much effort into something like this.

Good! 🙂 Personally, I think warez is prety dumb, but Microsoft's new protection scheme is even dumber. I'm not going to call Microsoft every time I upgrade, darnit! It would be easier to warez the darn thing than call Microsoft and wait for 30 minutes to talk to a CSR.

And that's when you know a copy protection scheme stupid -- when it's easier to warez it! And I thought Microsoft knew what they were doing... It'd be a shame if I had to warez WinXP 'cause they're too stupid to pull their heads outta their [censored].

I have had this code issue already with my office 2000 pro. w/ SR-1. It has an auto register that only allows you to register twice. I have already reformated a couple of times on one computer and put it on the other computer, and it said I had to call and get a confirmation code. This is crazy!! Now, for as long as I own this product, I have to re-call and get a new confirmation code everytime I reformat, put on a new o.s. or just plain upgrade. The lady at microsoft said the only way I can avoid this is to buy an open liscence. Yeah, right! Like their product was'nt expensive enough in the first place, that now I have to go buy an open license in addition. I'm sorry, but their product is not worth $1,000-$1,500.

I would appreciate any info anyone has on cracking the code for office 2k pro. I dont resell or anything, just dont think any upgrades or improvements on my part should be microsoft dependant.

Thanks

HAHA, of course its going to be cracked. Takes a few days!

I used to work for AliasWavefront. They make Maya and it is used to make all the special effects you see. Toy Story was made with it, Matrix, and the final fantasy movie coming out that is all made with Maya.

We tried everything, we sold maya with a USB tab that users have to insert in the USB socket for Maya to work. CRACKED

We tried to implement a system where users have to login to this server to register the product. CRACKED

Office XP is not EVEN OUT yet, its been stolen and cracked within days.

In any case, this is good news as always. Keep it up. Love to see news🙂

And to the person who wants to crack their office: http://astalavista.box.sk.

There are certain things that are better left undiscussed in such an open and well-moderated forum. This is one of them. 😉

HMMmmm, It's a TRICK!!!

I drove by MS HQ today and they had a fleet of vans in the lot, they were checking them in as they came of the carriers, black vans with metal benches on the sides in the back, I asked what they were for and they answered cryptically "There's only one way you could find that out" :Q

So now the question is...

If I buy a legitimate copy of OfficeXP, and crack it, am I breaking the law?

It is not a trick. Rajeev Kadam made another post. He, ofcourse does not reveal too much info, but he posted parts of the NFO that was emailed to him by a hacker.

Here is the new post:
Post By Electic Tech

This is not uncommon. I remember when Windows 2000 came out, it was on the net right when it went gold. This is not a big deal.

<< If I buy a legitimate copy of OfficeXP, and crack it, am I breaking the law? >>

That would be frowned upon.

So there's a magic cd-key to get around the protection? Ugh, that'll be invalided by MS at some point perhaps in a service pack.

BTW, this thread title is wrong as well. ZDNet was boasting in an article, that was posted on Electic Tech, about how this will slow down those piraters due to the MS protection.

Electic just later fired back with proof of their own, not ZDNet, it was already done. ZDNet, as always, in the dark.

I haven't been following (on purpose). Skipping the call-in to register, can't the phoning-home be circumvented by a firewall or never connecting to the 'net? I have to deal with this for a classified network I access. Installing Netscape 6, QuickTime, and others, is a pain.

onfortunatly, NFS4, if there is a Cause, it's effect can be deduced, and if their is an effect, it's cause can be deduced. Cause then effect
code that can be disabled = Security in product

if their is a lock, the lock can be destroyed, picked , or broken, but if there is nothing valuable to be stolen, the lock will live a long safe happy life.
