God I hate the FDR... if you live around the city, that tire insurance was definitely a good buy.
But watch the potholes that you know are there!![]()

Can't see any damage in front photo. Rear photo shows damage to tire and that minor abrasion on the rim can be polished out, unless the rim has a crack we can't see. I had a similar incident on the FDR north going thru the 96th st underpass. Hit something on the road, both right side tires went down. Had to use the spare and buy a temp, wrong size tire for the other just to get home. But my rims were ok, just lost 2 tires.

Damn that sucks. I think I hit something near the Queensborough bridge exit in the left lane. I'm not positive though.
These low profile tires really sustain a lot damage. I never had a problem with my G35. In fact, whenever I hit a pothole in my old G35, I never got the jarring hit that I do in my new car. I guess it's because the tire profile is a bit larger.

FDR and what? I've never seen bad roads around NYC (compared to Michigan), sans the metal slabs.

The jarring and every little bump you feel is from the runflats. Personally I would get rid of them (and I have) but since you have the insurance that will always pay for replacements... may as well keep them. BUT watch out for when you take a road trip and get stuck with needing a replacement and nowhere close will sell that particular RFT model... that's when you're in trouble. I've heard more and more will patch the RFTs but they're not supposed to because of liability. Curious - did yours come with a regular spare?

Queens is the fricken worst with potholes. Queens is the worst with street names and finding anything too... I think I hate Queens more than the FDR. Yup, I've made up my mind.

Queens is not bad finding your way around. Except in Astoria & Long Island City where you will find the same Number on Roads, Streets and Avenues in some spots ... Try telling someone to go to 38th Ave and they end up on 38th St or 38th Rd .. that is a crazy system ...

Are those 225 45/18s? I have 225 45/17s so they're similar. They look great, but I don't like how little rubber there is between the rim and the road. I'm thinking of stepping up to 225 50/17 when these tires wear out but I need to find out if the speedometer can be recalibrated easily and if they'll fit without rubbing.
This is a great idea as they are responsible. They have a certain amount of time to fix them though, so you should call 311 and see if it's been reported. If they say that it has, get the reported date. If it's been a while, then they should pay.Originally posted by: iFX

Jersey is way worse when it comes to street signs, those fuckers don't even market tpike onramps to get to Staten island... I've gotten lost there so many times.
