DAMN.. my kds 19" just bit the dust

had it for less than a year, now its d.e.d. plugged in, but wont turn on. tried different power cable, same thing.

bought it at best buy like 200 miles from here. anyone know what the warranty on these are, its a kds vs-195. do I have to take it to best buy or send it to the manufacturer.. I dont have a clue where the receipt or warranty crap is

Hehe, I read the title "My 19 kid just bit the dust." I was like, WTF? Your kid died and you say he "bit the dust?!"

Anyway, sucks about the monitor. I had one of my 17" ones that I bought (from a different company) die in 6 months. Sucked the big one. Luckily they were good about replacing it.

Umm, I think it's 3 yr warranty, 1 year they cover shipping...you have to call them, they won't do it over email, I know.

My KDS-195 bit it yesterday. It will turn on, but just sit there, no image, nothing. Maybe its a new virus. Im purty sure mines out of warranty though.

heh, pillage is just kidding...I'm not sure, I just know they won't do it through email ;) Just call them up...from what I've heard, KDS is pretty good at RMAs...I should probably RMA mine (same model). It's been the same since I got it, I've just been too lazy to RMA it - it has a slight yellow hue on the right side and the convergence at the edges isn't too great (especially at higher resolutions)...

They are very good with RMAs, I've sent that same model monitor back before. They advanced shipped me a new one and covered shipping both ways.

yes ive heard this also. i just got the vs190i (19") to use as a secondary monitor (and it kicks ass for 115$ net+TNT pci card). says it has the KARES system. from what i understood they advancereplace it for you, much like Maxtor does their hard drives. really hope this is the case as that was a reason i bought it, good warranty.
