I downloaded the 9 new updates for XP that came out and told the damn thing that I will restart later. I leave the computer for a while and come back and the damn thing has closed all of my documents and open web pages and restarted my computer. WHY THE FVCK DO THEY ASK ME IF I WANT TO RESTART IF THEY DON'T CARE WHAT MY ANSWER IS?!?!?!?!

It will ask you periodically, and if you arent there when it asks again, it reboots.

I did the exact same thing, but I left it on and went to sleep. Mine didn't reboot, it just kept asking like an idiot. Something else rebooted your computer.
 
My computer didn't reboot after installing the updates until I told it to. 😛

However, I did notice a strange issue after the updates; all my games were stuttering quite badly, almost to the point of unplayability. There didn't appear to be any abnormal CPU usage or anything. A System Restore to before the updates were installed fixed the problem, not surprisingly. One of these days I'll try to track down the problem more specifically perhaps, but I've gotta have my gaming fix. 😛
 
Yep, I got a patch a few days ago and it said it would reboot in five minutes. I said no way. I even closed the process, but it created itself again ( on the same time it was before closing it). I couldn't stop the fvcker, and so I just said fine reboot.

No, I am pretty sure it was this crap. I usually reboot my computer every 30-40 days and it doesnt reboot itself ever.
 
Last night I updated, and it rebooted mine automatically too. I was pissed because I was in the middle of watching a movie while the updates were downloading.
