Damn Mexican Grapes!!!!

shiner

Lifer
Went to Albertson's earlier and did some grocery shopping. One of the things I picked up was a couple of bags of grapes(Producto de Mexico).....well....I just went downstairs to wash them and put some in a bowl to enjoy as a snack as I type. I start pulling them out and all these little white ball looking things come falling out. I'm thinking WTF and begin looking at the grapes and several of them have these little white balls attached to them. Being the inquisitive person I am AND wondering what in the hell is attached to my grapes I pick up one of the little white balls, put it on the counter top, squish it around, determine it is organic, find a nice sharp knife, poke a hole in the white thing, peel it open.....what do I find??? FREAKING SPIDER OF SOME TYPE!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I then open the other bag and sure enough it has lots of the little white balls on them as well. I promptly put most of the grapes down the disposal and sent those spiders straight to hell!!!!

Now I'm off to Albertson's with the grapes I have left to get my $ back and tell them to find an alternative source of grapes!!!!!

Spider eggs wouldn't have hurt me? I find that hard to believe....the only thought that kept running through my mind was the alien bursting forth from my stomach.

This is the second time I've ended up with fruit that was a Producto de Mexico and it had something wrong with it. Last time it was bananas that were full of worms. Too bad all the fruits around here right now seem to have come from there.

LOL the scary thing is I also think about the same thing ... little baby spiders hatching inside of my stomach trying to crawl out, spinning webs everywhere, etc.

Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I gotta go drink some non-spider-egg-infested water and take a shower just to feel clean.

<< It is Albertson's fault for not using stricter quality control. >>

Actually this is the first time I've had any kind of problem with Albertson's. In fact I find that they usually have the freshest fruit and the cleanest store.

The whole wormy bananas incident happened with fruit from a different grocer.
