So 7 months after moving into my new place I finally got around to unpacking all the unneeded boxes back in the guest room closet. So far I've come across a bunch of crap I have no use for and need to figure out how I am going to get rid of it.

Some of the crap I have found includes:

Multiple hard drives ranging from 20gb to 300gb
Harmon Kardon receiver
3 computers (1 P3 500, 1 XP1700+, 1 XP1600+ Shuttle) - all complete builds
2 Dell 19" LCD
1 Dell 18" LCD
Soltek P4 Mobo (NIB)
Lan Party II with processor and ram
Tons of cables (Video, Audio, Car Audio, Computer, etc)

Sad thing is I still have more boxes to go. Damn I really need to get rid of this shit.

We have a senior center that takes computers, parts, etc. They have a volunteer that cannibalizes and assembles as needed and the computers are then given for free to seniors. Anything that is not usable is recycled.

See if there is something similar in your area.

give it away in the free stuff thread?

if so, i'll take the 300gig hd 🙂

i'll also take a video card 🙂

I noticed this about myself when I moved out from my parents. I have lot of stuff.

The beauty of a split level house is the huge crawlspace. I did a huge cleanup in it (was quite nasty), added more lighting, and put all my crap in there. It's all stuff I can't justify throwing away as I actually do use it every now and then. I find myself going in there at least once a week to get something.

I've got a large amount of storage space in my attic, but I don't think it would be in my best interest to store anything up there as it easily gets 120F up there.
