In the last few days iTunes has stopped downloading my podcasts (Unknown Error -50) and will not add any music from CDs (Error occurred while converting the file <Track name>. An unknown error occurred (-50).)

I have not made any changes to iTunes or it's settings other than modifying some music playlists.

What happened to iTunes?

Do you have it set up to rip music and download podcasts to an external or flash drive? The drive letter may have changed so itunes is trying to download to somewhere that doesn't exist.

BTW, this is on a Mac.

Yes, but the external drive is there and is working.

I just cleared out all the podcasts and redownloaded two. The third one I tried failed again.

Odd.
