Damn it! This is why you can't have a band and be married

I'm helping a friend of mine arrange a song he's writing called "Barefoot and Blue Jeans". While comming up with a guitar run, I thought of a lyric:

Painted toes
Shirt too tight
You're going to make me one hell of a night

I sang it to my wife with the riff I came up with to see what she thought. Instead of commenting on if it sounded good or not, she started reading the rest of the lyrics and asked "Who is this song about? It so detailed you must have had someone in mind...and this definately isn't me."

Ughhhh. I didn't write half of the song, and 90% of the time lyrics are just a mish-mosh of past experiences. I wonder if someone like Steven Tyler has to tell his wife that every song he writes is about her. Jealousy crap like this drives me crazy :|

I'm in my mid 30's, have two kids, and my hair is thinning- I pretty much gave up the "playing arenas" dream 15 years ago.

Crap like this makes me think being gay IS a choice. It's almost better to get pounded in the butt a couple times a month than to deal with woman crap :| This is why I would never cheat on her---can you imagine having TWO women nagging and complaining.

If she tells you you're being sexist, just remind her there's nothing wrong with being sexy. Sex sells.

OK, I'm calm again :) My wife has anxiety issues because of her health problems. She's always afraid "I'm leaving one day" even though I would never consider it, much less check out other goods (that's what porn is for!). I like doing the family thing, and music + WoW fill my free time.

Still, it feels like I have to stifle my creative side a lot in order to avoid raising her suspicions.

That's just stupid. I have a good friend who happens to be an ex-girlfriend. I'll write a bit about dating or some weird sexual thing "a girl I was dating" did, and she always asks if I mean her... So I always just say yes. Unequivocally. In this joke I'm writing about dirty talk in the bedroom, I was thinking about you, who never uttered a single word during sex. Clearly this joke is about you. Or this joke about having sex with some girl's sister, obviously about you even though you're an only child. I invented you a sister for this joke, I hope you like her.

Some people are just insecure. I don't deal well with these people. I'll tell them exactly what they don't want to hear. I find it helps them get over their insecurities, or at least stop bringing it up with me, which, let's face it, is really what I care about.

Let her be insecure.

Studies show women who are insecure in their relationships are far more sexual, and women who are very secure in their relationship lose interest in sex.

Never be intimidated by a jealous woman. Instead, encourage her jealousy and let other people do things to spark it. You'll live with drama but you'll be getting laid like you did when you dated.

tell her it's like writing for characters in a story. Really, lyrics are just a story of sorts anyhow.
creativity FTL?
I'd be bugged by that big time.
It's kind of like, for my poetry project in 7th grade... my teacher questioned if I needed help and was wondering if I might be expressing pent-up suicidal thoughts, even though she mentioned how I was always cheerful in class. I just have a very creative and dark mind. I'm a happy person, but I have a very inventive mindset and can concoct some of the weirdest stories. I really have no trouble making characters, and getting my mind to think like that character. If only I grew up in SoCal and had family connections... would probably be in the movie business as a writer or try my hand at acting. Stayed out of drama in highschool cuz well, I didn't want to be associated with most of those people.
