Had MRI's done on wednsday and thursday for my back and today the doctor called and said that I have artritis, i'm only 16 freaking years old and it hurts like a biatch. This sucks majorly......

Hate to hear that. I've had artritis since I was 20, I'm now 36. It does take away some activities I would like to do like golf. But if you take care of yourself and have the right medication you should be able to do most of whatever you want. Of course, this is depending on which kind you have. I have psoritic arthritis.

Good luck. If you need any advice from someone who's been there just pm me.

What did you do to get arthritis? Or does this sort of thing just happen?

good luck dude

not sure yet, i just called the doctor and the secretary told me about the results and scheduled an apointment for next week so I'm not sure what i'm giong to do i've been giong to physical therapy for a month, but i didn't know that i had it until today because they wouldn't let me get an MRI w/o going to therapy first. So now next week i'll find out whats gonnna happen....I think I've had this for about 3 years now because its been hurting since but the doctor before always gave me some type of medicatino to get it to go away but now its constant and hurts like hel!....hopefully somehow it'll go away. I'm not sure what kind of arthritis it is yet either becuase the hospital only faxed them a written report saying that it was arthritis but iddn't say which one they doctors office said to callb ack in the next day or so tof ind uot what kind it is.......

Blah just got some more bad news, doctors secretary called and said that i have a misalligned disk in my back and theres a slight posibbilty of getting surgery ? not sure why but this is going to suck .....

hopefully not cuz i do that alot, but ever since the back problem showed up i've always cracked my back and my doctor said it was okay to do so.....but then maybe she doens't know anything because it took her 1 1/2 months to get her to let me take an MRI.

are u on naproxen/naprosyn? i also had juvenile rheumatory arthritis (JRA) when i was in my teens, but it went away with naproxen. i also had localized steroids injected into my elbow cuz it wouldn't bend. hopefully u'll outgrow it. i'm 20 now and it's gone.

did your doc say what the cause of the arthritis was?

Damn arthritis would be the last thing I'd want for my piano playing, guitar rockin, violin strummin, ATOT smokin fingers. Good luck and sorry man.

I'm not on anything yet, just found out on friday and the doctor wasn't the one talking to e about it, her secretary was. And I'll be seeing the doctor on monday night to find out whats up....other than that the doctor just told her secretary to call me and tell me that i have it and that my disk is misaligned but other than that I'm not sure what part of my back it is or what kind of arthritis or anything yet. but I do know that the MRI was on the lower lumbar or something like that.

🙁 feel better, and hopefully you will take a good medical path to alleviate the pain.

(see another doctor, please. your current one doesn't sound too bright.)
