I was eating at a restaurant and I left them there wrapped up in a napkin. There is NO DOUBT that the waiter threw them out assuming they were garbage. Now I gotta shell out at least $300 to get new ones. FVCK! I hate sh!T like this when it happens. My friends and relatives keep on telling me to just give it up and that sh!t happens.....=(

You guys ever misplace stuf?

My orthodontist gave me a free replacement when I lost mine in a parking lot. Ask if that's built into your braces program.

How much did it cost to get them replaced?

Don't remember anymore, it's been a long time. And plus my parents always lied to me on costs trying to make me feel more bad or emphsize the importance of not losing them.

Mine would be $75 CDN if I lost my top retainer (my bottom teeth are cemented - less fuss).

Tip: Wrap it in a napkin and then PUT IT IN YOUR PANTS/JACKET POCKET!

That's why my parents won't know about this. I gotta foot the bill myself! Time to break out the credit card.

if you haven't worn it in a year chances are it won't fit anyway. your teeth will have moved.

Well, if it's the top one, he can try to use it. It should fit, but it will hurt like hell. I didn't wear my top retainers for like 2 years and they still fit.

Better start wearing them unless you want to shell out more money to get new ones OR even getting braces again!

I haven't had braces for about 3 years now, but still wear my retainer every night.

A couple months ago I stepped on my retainer and broke it in 2 pieces, I was soo pissed. Ended up super glueing it back together and it fits OK, but not near as well as it use to. Thought about going to the othordontist but don't feel like shelling out $150 or so to get a new one.

Hire some new ones. There are always plenty of lawyers to go around.
