Just reserved tickets to opera (Mozart: Così fan tutte) for me and my better half. Needless to say, future Mrs. Nemesis77 is purring like a kitten .

Never been to opera, so I guess I'll find out :p. Well, I do like classical music, so why not (I know, not 100% same thing)?

Opera's not that bad. It's Mozart, so that's a plus. :)

Haven't heard any of Cosi fan Tutte, but Don Giovanni is nice. :)

I ask whether you like it because I know I'm not an opera fan (neither is my wife), but we both like classical music -- strange. I think it's the singing style -- it just sounds too out there for my liking.

Who picked this opera??

Disguises and surprises make for one of opera's most sophisticated comedies. Featuring some of Mozart's best-loved music, Così Fan Tutte uses the duplicity of men to test the fidelity of women, and in doing so reveals the humanity of both.

Two young soldiers are so sure of their fiancees' faithfulness that they are willing to wager that the women can't be seduced. Under the guidance of the cynical Don Alfonso and the worldly-wise lady's maid, Despina, the two young men woo their betrothed ones while disguised as exotic foreigners. Is love blind? Are young women so easily fooled? Find out what "Così Fan Tutte" really means.

Here is a synopsis so you know what's going on!
Here are some notes so you can impress her with your opera knowledge..
Here is the Libretto cuz every opera needs one :D

Both of us. I belong to my workplaces culture-club, and I get tips regarding future performances (opera, concerts, theater etc.). I had the list of future performances, and we went through it with my GF. She wanted to go see an opera, and there were few operas there, but we had conflicting schedules (we had to drop Othello among others) and this one was just about the only one that was available to us. So I reserved the tickets :)

Oh, and I do know what it's about ;).
