i'm from the OC, and well, rap is pretty crappy here, except maybe rap for parties and clubs, but everybody here still lives up to rock.
 
I can't stand punk rock either. I like music that challenges me technically and compositionally as a musician and a listener. Jazz, progressive metal, improvised classical....that's where it's at.

and by society you mean corporate agendas, the glorification of violence, intolerance, racism, and sexism, and a general lack of anything resembling creativity, talent, or a point other than making money by selling crap to idiots who not only don't know any better, but are PROUD of not knowing any better? i'm not flag-waver, but i've got a little more faith in our society than that. and it would be one thing to educate people about problems, but 99% of rap just glorifies and romanticizes those problems, which makes all the surbanban white kids pretend they have those problems, too, until it becomes a self-fufilling prophecy. guess what homey? if you're not poor you don't need to live in the ghetto and act like you have primordial ooze for brains. try thinking and maybe you won't have to proud of dealing drugs and treating women like dogs.
 
Thombsbrain, I'm sorry to say but society is only going to go forward for the worse.....and since it's inevitable, I'm going to advocate it and exploit it. I'm sick of religion, government....being controlled. I hate it.

So....what exactly has religion and government done to you? Take your job, rob you of something, make you pay taxes? I bet the most controlling things in your life right now is your parents :roll: I mean how many people actually feel like they're being controlled directly by the government or by religion somehow ?

What they've done to me? Well I'll tell you that they don't DO jack for me that's for sure. They pretty much regulate and brainwash the backwards society we have now. We pay taxes and they use it for bullcrap.
As for parents, I live alone with my gf and do not control me in any way.
