Damn i just discovered my APG is running at 1x

WCPUID says my "current supported 1x, running in 1x"

this confuses me cause i have 4x enabled in the BIOS setting (fastwrite disabled)

im using the 6.34 drivers for the MX, i have the newest 4 in 1 drivers installed, and using Win98se

i even tested the registery entry from www.tweaktown.com but no luck

i dont really care if its running at 4x but i just think something must be wrong somewhere for WCPUID to say 1x is all that is supported

Duron 700@800mhz
EPOX 8KTA+
128 pc100
Inno3D Geforce MX
SB Live!

any suggestions?

The drivers for the card have to be specifically set to use 4X. Also many 4X AGP cards have to have a jumper set on them to allow 4X (done to keep them from attempting 4X on a board that doesn't support it).

I have the same card and I got mine going at 4x by enabling in bios and installing the drivers for 4x. Try that it should work.

ok makes sense

but i KNOW for a fact my video card and motherboard both allow AGP 4x

and that becoming the case why does WCPUID say only 1x is supported?

*****EDIT****

Hubbs what drivers are you referring too?

from www.gamefaq.com

Q. I have a VIA chipset based motherboard and I can't get AGP2X or AGP4X working. How can I fix it?

A. Make sure that you installed the VIA AGP driver in 'Turbo' mode - otherwise you will be restricted to AGP1X only.

yup thats my problem, see if i ever listen to tech support from the web site i bought it from, they said to install it in normal mode

hehe

thanks all
