I live in El Paso, Tx. where summer temps get in the 100's quite regularly. The problem is that with evaporative(swamp)cooling the house never really gets too cool. I notice a big change in my CPU temps during the summer since the room is like close to 80 degrees. I'm thinking of maybe looking into a window AC unit just to keep this room cool.

Or how about you abandon the PC for the 4 months and find some girls in skimpy outfits and go skinny dipping in this nice weather?

Of course AC is great if it doesnt dry up your eyes or your lungs too much. I would also suggest maybe you can kill 2 birds with 1 stone: get a watercooling setup to help decrease temperatures and get a better overclock if that's your thing.

Over past history did you have any problems with your CPU overheating or any computer parts during the warmer months of the year? If so what temperatures have they reached? Remember Athlon XP will run fine at 60-65*C.

Perhaps you can treat yourself to a new Barton XP-M 2400/2500+ since they run at substantially lower voltage helping to decrease temperatures and provide a much more friendly overclocking experience. I am sure if you get up to 2300mhz+ it will be a nice investment esp considering the extra cache on board in comparison to your 2100+.

I've been considering the Athlon XP-M upgrade and just may do it before prices rise any higher. My temps are somewhat of a mystery to me as I have a pretty good HSF combo(Thermalright. If I have my case closed, my temps will rise to the mid 50's and at those temps my games crash a lot. I have my case open with a room fan blowing on the CPU and that keeps it around the mid 40's while gaming. I would rather have my case closed to reduce noise and dust but my computer just gets too hot.
