sheesh 3 hour lunch? while i may not have fired you it would put you at top of my list of people to watch.

also not helping others because of how they look? yeah smart move. now maybe that i would fire you for. you are there to help everyone who needs help. not just the hot looking ones. with the ocmbination of the two odds are you would be out.

of course that depends ont he size of the place. i usually ran smaller places. where if you were goofing off i did not need you. you cost me money you are gone.

Maybe the pretty ones just get more attention from him. I doubt anyone would straight out not help the ugly ones, but then I guess some people don't.

I know if I'm at work and one of the hot chicks asks me for help, they'll get a detailed fix and explaination whereas an ugly one will just get a fix.

Well, I swear I never treated people this way, all the users get help. I have 625 users on 24 different application servers at the site in question that runs 24/7, though I have a couple more sites that I pay attention too at the same time. It is just this one in particular is the largest by far and I am physically located here, where as the rest of the users I support are done through remote connections.

So needless to say, I am going to mind all my P's and Q's for quite some time... I will also solve things remotely instead of stopping by to their computer.

it really does not matter if you were treating the pretty ones better or not. it appears to others in the office (and worse managment) that you are. All it takes is one lady who feels that you are not helping her because she is not showing cleavage or as hot as others to make problems for you and the company.

anyone that cost the company money on stupid stuff is not worth my time to keep. now a larger company you might get away with it... for a while.

Iono, if I ran the world, I'd find a way to get rid of that one user who has self-esteem issues (or a bitch, for lack of better term).

That is, if Tsaico does actually provide good support for everyone. Everyone gives some preference to people they prefer to help, but if he's still doing his job, I'd have no problem with it.

Thanks for the vote of support Kelvrick! I do agree that perception is a lot, so since my boss says it is a problem then it is. But with 625 users, I assure you that I do not work for Perfect 10 or Playboy, and if I neglected the men and the uglies, (and especially ulgy men!) then I am sure there would be lots more complaints.

But I can be just as friendly over the phone as I am in person, so I think this would solve alot of my problem. It just sucks sitting in the server room for 8 hours a day by myself, plus the after hours phone support. 24 servers can generate some noise!

Damn 3 hour lunch break that's long. I only used to goof off at work talking to the pretty gals when I had no work to do or browsing ATOT.

I think whats more likely happening is the director is
1) An ugly b|tch
2) Like most ugly b|tches, extremely jealous of non uggs.
3) Imagining things, or at least exaggerating them heavily.

Of course the OP is going to be a little more flirty with the pretty girls, thats probably whats happening. And it doesn't take much more then that sometimes to get a sh|t stew brewing somewhere.

The 3 hour lunch though...god damn. It would have been fine if you'd just told some one most likely.

When I take a 3 hour lunch, I clock it in. Fibbing on worktime is frowned upon, and can be grounds for firing or easy demotions. :( Sucks to be you man. Also, the pretty girls comment might have some validity. Check yourself.

At my workplace the last one leaving always has to check on windows/doors left open, computers/etc left on and, ofc, has to lock the whole bulding and arm the alarm system. I've never ever forgot to do that, ever. Today, after I've just left the building, the GM came across the street and asked if I did all that. I didn't. I just walked out and walked to my car. That's where he catched me. I have no idea why but I forgot. It's a coincidence.

If he was still there, why didn't he do it?
