i am again saddened by the extreme unwillingness of people to help someone out... people that said they'd volunteer are backing out, and others i ask wont get back to me (meaning they wont come, but are too gutless to say it to me).

some people need strangulation.

the overall selfishness of the human race in just helping one another out greatly dissappoints me. i am ashamed to know these people, and even more ashamed to have ever called them "friends".

im sick of fair weather friends. i've had enough of them...

i dont think words can convey my anger at this point...

**UPDATE** i've almost finished the project through lots of hard work, several long nights, and a lot of screwing... (slats onto metal, you sick pervs :p lol) so it's just final installation (about an hour or so), then writeup and sign off. WOOHOO! :D

**UPDATE** I've finished the project, due to many hours spent by myself with a metal chopsaw... now, all i have to do is hunt anyone who promised me a letter of reccomendation down and force em to give it to me :p lol.

thanks for the emotional support guys :)

I have about 4 good friends that would help me out whenever I need them. The others I wouldn't trust.

Having one good friend is better then having 10 so-so friends.

It's a hard lesson to learn who your true friends are when the cards are laid out on the table!

No sense in dwelling on it, it will only make you madder and frustrated
just move on, life is to damn short!

Eh, rather than complain about it, you can just keep pushing your friends everytime something comes up (sounds from the nature of your post that you volunteer often). Eventually they'll cave, and perhaps find that they enjoy it.

Heh, you sit here and post about how selfish people are and how unwilling they are to help their fellow man, yet you're only doing it for the recognition. Stop bitching.

Do you have any idea of the amout of work and planning that goes into an Eagle Scout project? Chances are Walleye has poured alot of himself into this project and its completion.

Walleye, are there any APhiO chapters around you? If you called them up they can probably get some brothers out there to help, I know my chapter would jump at the chance to help someone on an Eagle project.

have i worked several hundred hours on other projects, without recognition, without compensation, without even a thank you, for the recognition? i am doing this project for recognition, yes. but i chose this project specifically because it gave me an oppertunity to do a lot of work... even with many volunteers i would still have an unbeleivable workload.

Yeah, I do. My best friend and another friend of mine both just became eagle scouts, and I helped them both out along the way. I'm not saying he shouldn't be ticked, I'm saying the fact that he goes on a rant about "selfishness of the human race" when he's so obviously only upset because of his own interests being at stake for a volunteer project...it just screams hypocrite.

I believe you, and really, i feel for you man. But, as I said in the other post, you can't sit here and complain about how your friends are selfish unlike you, when the reason you're pissed off is because of how YOU are affected. In other words, like it or not (and as much as a right as you have to be in a way), you're being selfish. And you're calling everyone else selfish. Make sense?

If this is so important have you asked your family for help?

And why cant you pester your friends, If there your friends they will understand why you are doing it and will come around!

If this is about your Eagle rating, have you talked to whoever is in charge of this and explaine your problem?

And just to let you know, some things in life are not ment to be, if we got everything we wanted
in life, god it would be boring as hell because we would have nothing to strive for next time,
failure happens learn and move on, its not the end of the world it only seems like it!

I am sorry if you cannot understand this and I am sorry I am unable to help you, but I wont
sugercoat this for you either!

i think i've earned the right to be selfish for a moment or two...

they are no longer my friends. they know perfectly well what i am doing. they wont come around. i am through with them.

yes i have asked my family for help.

failure is failure. i WILL not fail so long as i still have breath in my lungs, as to whatever i set out to complete.

im sorry if you people dont understand this... my life and honor hangs in the balance. i will complete the project, even if it isnt recognized by the scouts...

this was just a rant about fair weather friends who will do nothing to help you when your time comes that you need it.
