You know the world is coming to an end when a DAMNED TV PRODUCER has SARS. Screw those stupid farmer and laborers, but not the TV producer.

I read the whole story and no where did I see the significance of mentioning that the guy was a TV producer. If it was a hooker, would they have said Chinese Hooker has SARS?

Everybody would. SARS seemed to have died down, so it's pretty important that even 1 case has been found. A TV producer would make it all the worse - while farmers/laborers probably don't see many people throughout the day, the TV producer could have been in contact with hundreds of people, possibly some that were travelling overseas.
