ok i have a TDK veloCD 8x4x32 running on windows 2000, anyway before i start i should say the drive worked perfectly fine untill i formated so it should be fixable. (should 🙁 )
ok heres all ive done. also its JUST when writing audio cd's i can burn regular data cd's fine.

installed/reinstalled x2 - easy cd creator 3x
installed/reinstalled - easy cd creator 4x then upgrade to 4.02
tried CDRWIN - errors
installed aspi upgrade from adaptec.com (aspi32.exe)
installed a socalled win2000 aspi patch (http://home.concepts.nl/~jvdam/right_aspi.htm)
prolly a few more things i cnat think of off the top of my head.

ps. heres the error message in easy cd creator 4:
T7121: TrackWriter error - ASPI failure
T7127: TrackWriter error - Flush failed
T7121: TrackWriter error - ASPI failure

You need ASPI drivers. Unfortunatly Adaptec sued a guy that released a freeware version. To use CDRWIN you have to find someone that can give it to you..... hint hint.

Oh boy. That's probably not an ASPI problem.

Try doing this : Under 2000, find a file called ASPI32.DLL. If you find it, rename it.
Now, go ahead and go on your CD-Creator 4.0 Disk. Find a file called ASPIINST.EXE.
It should be ASPI 4.60. Run that. It should succeed, because ASPI32 is not there, it thinks
there's no ASPI layer. Rinse, Reboot.

See if that does it.

Grab Audiograbber, and see if you can RIP digital audio - that could be your problem if
data works fine. Windows 2000 doesnt have an ASPI layer normally, and thus can be a
problem for digital audio.

I have pretty much the same problem. I installed aspi32.exe from adaptec so that I can rip mp3 with audiagrabber. But I just realized that now after I installed the aspi32.exe, my nero (CD burning program) stop working with my HP9200i. I am guessing that aspi32 is the problem, and after getting rid of it the CD burning should start working. But is there anyway that I can digitally extract wav files to mp3 AND use cdrw at the same time??? Is there any ASPI layer that will work for both digital extraction and cd buring??

Whoever solve this problem should get paid big time by Microsoft!!
