Three out of the five cards i have installed in my motherboard do not fit when i want to screw them into the case. Is this the cases fault? I have a hightower Antec case. If it's the cases fault, does anybody have any suggestions for other cases?

We need some more information, What cards are they. What series case is it? 1240?
Are cases are pretty much standard. Do the cards partially fit into the slot but
wont reach down enough to screw them in?

Heh. Back when I did my first personally-done upgrade, I had an OEM S3 Virge card that, when screwed into the case, was a good half inch or so from connecting the card's connectors to the PCI slot. Major pain. Still running that card, without the metal piece to secure it, on an office machine.

Did you use the standoffs provided by the case manufacturer ? Does the I/O plate align correctly with the case cut-out AND the mobo ? I have seen many instances of cases being "handed down" to a 2nd person and the "deal" didn't include the necessary OE standoffs to properly mount the mobo. The 'plane' or surface that the cards mount to should be approximately 4 1/4" [give or take 1/64"] above the 'plane' of the top of the motherboard. If you find that the measurement on yours' is much less than this, you have a real problem {as if I had to tell you :>) }
I HAVE seen some ISA and PCI cards that didn't fit correctly and were probably manufactured cheaply [no-names they were so 'proud of' that they didn't even put their name on them!] but definitely not 3 out of 5, more on the order of 1 out of a 100.

the three cards that i'm having trouble with don't reach far enough to screw in. The cards are the Santa Cruz sound card, my Creative Modemblaster modem (yes i have crappy dial-up) and my newly purchased Radeon LE. The model of my case is Antec PP-253X 250W. It's really starting to bug me. Help!

If you used the correct MOBO supports then the problem is that you are not using enough force to seat the cards. On PCI cards when seated properly you should be able to see about an 1/8 in of the contact pattern.
These cards can sometimes be a pain for people who haven't done alot of them. They actually are pretty tough to break as long as you have them aligned in the slot prior to applying the seating pressure. When you have them aligned with the slot use straight downward pressure to seal, try not to rock forward-backwards and side to side. They should make a kind of snaping sound when they are seated.

I am sure that i have them properly seated. Some of my cards will fit perfectly, others will not. I have had other people try it out and they blame it on the case. However, I am not sure.
