Damn, can't believe I just ordered two EVGA 6800 GT PCI-E

I have heard people have problems with widescreen LCDs and SLI, I am not sure if some of the betas fix this up.

As for SLI itself, I have two BFG 6800GTs and I am disappointed, sorry, that's just the way I feel.

Switch your output to VGA, Not DVI and you'll have a ton less problems.....

DVI-D has some timing issues right now, it just sucks....

But on VGA it kicks ass.

I get 14000 with ONE X850XT...just shows me what a f****g waste SLI is. And i thought especially in 3dmark NV SLI solutions would kick ass....obviously not....

Edit: On a good note..you GOT a good deal on these two cards..have to give you that

Along with the extra cool factor.......SLI seems to me, to be a fun and worthy purchase for any hardcore gamer.

depends what you play. i dont have numbers ready right now - but i dont think yoiu will be MUCH faster (if at all !) than ONE X850XT in HL2 !

Doom 3 is another story 🙂

I think we could debate for some time whether the $800 are a "good" investment or not....

#1 depends on your config you are running that card...mine are 100% stock CPU and VPU speeds......

I could easily overclock the cards, and get well over 20000.......

#2 that card is like what, $600???......I spend $379 each.....I'll take my 30% better performance gain for $170

Worst case, I can sell one of my cards, still have a great system, and put that towards something else....

#3 Nvidia Drivers are subpar at best right now.........My tests were running on Drivers from November......I'm sure newer drivers will result in much better numbers...

That said...

the ATI x850 XT is a bad ass card no doubt.....

But I've never liked ATI's drivers for games, they always seem to crap out and have problems...........
