Ever since my wife started working, got my pills in check with the new doc, and my migraines have been a thing of the past my blood sugar has been dropping like a rock. Used to be 280's no matter what I ate or missed my meds, now im 90's and 80s dropping to the low 60's. We cut my meds in half and im still dropping finding myself shaking, needing to eat something, and very sleepy. I was almost ready to fall asleep when I noticed I didnt feel right and had the shakes, checked my sugar level to find out I was at 62, had I ignored it and feel asleep I could of went into a coma or died in my sleep. Glad I got up :)

Im eating jelly beans and jolly ranchers right nw. Ate 10 beans really quick, and sucking on a jolly as I typy this shaking pretty bad. Hopefully it will stop soon. Will have to keep checking my sugar levels for the next hour or two before trying to go back to bed. Damn, that was a close call I think

I have a question for you, assuming you're a diabetic. If you've ever been in a state where your sugar has been down dangerously but you're still concious (albeit not really functioning), are you able to remember anything? My mom's got type 1 and a few times it's been low enough where we've had to force her to drink sugar water while she stares at you confused, but after it's back up, it's like she "wakes up" back to normal.

Just wondering if you HAVE the mental faculties to realize it's low but you're body's not able to respond to your actions, or you're just totally oblivious.

No I havent goten that low as of yet and I dont really want to. I have been able to catch myself when It starts to hit the low 60's like this the few times. You really start to feel funky. Light headed, hands and body kinda shaking, your with it sorta but on the verge on not being with it (if that makes sense) when that happends they say your to eat sugar cubes, suck on some candy, half a can of regular coke, stuff like that with real sugar in it. I dont really want it to get any lower then that, and had I just played it off, which I almost did because I was right on the edge of falling asleep but my mind kept telling me something wasnt right to get up and go check, I may of dipped way down in my sleep and never to get up. I cant believe I was that close tonight. Gonna call the doc in the morning and see if I should cut my pills completly, maybe I am not eating enough I dont have type II anymore. they say it can be controoled by waht you wat and stress. Stress is way down for me lately so is my sugar levels. Be nice to cut those pills out of the many others I have to take.

If it ever got that low Id be screwed becaiuse for the most part Im home alone som Im always checking it, when I hit around 70 I try to go get something to eat but for me it is hard some days with my back all jacked up and no one home.

And d33t im type II diabetic, on pills, gets low depending on what I have eaten. For dinner I had turkey, potatoes, and asparagus. I thought I would of had enough sugar from the potatoes tonight but obviously not.

Watch yourself dude.

I had friend go to sleep one night and never woke up. The coroner said her sugar level had dropped into the 20's. She was only 23. :(

Im eating plenty o sugar right now, about to eat a huge ass gummy santa clause I got for christmas. That should do me good for the night. The gonna re-check in a half hour.

And yeah, Im mulling over if I played it off and just went to sleep, Id be dead most likely in the morning or a coma. Got to make sure this never happens again.

Are you diabetic? I thought that was when your body couldn't regulate the upper limit on the sugar. What's it called the other way around? My neighbor had it but I can't remember... hypoglycemia! Is that it?

Hypoglycemia is it.

Diabetes you cant control your sugar because you arent producing enough insulin. However on medication like glucutrol(sp?), you can get dangerously low.

Well Im at 112 now so say to say I can go back to bed. And yup on my meds it can make me get too low, and off my meds I can get to high. So Im damned if I do and damned if I dont. Got to find a happy middle place. Didnt find it tonight obviously, Im just so damn glad I got out of bed and checked and didnt just go to sleep.

If anyone cares Im on Glyburide 5mg x2 a day and actos 45mg 1x a day for my diabetes. No insulin, thank god, for me.
