LOL, I called the utility company and if gave me an automated readout of the affected areas. It's about 1/4 of the city. Everytime a single power line gets knocked down there are wide spread outages. I'd hate to see what would happen during a hurricane. :roll:

actually, scratch that -- it's 65 degrees at work and we've got generator fuel for at least a week, I'd grab a pillow, blanket, and drive over to the office to camp out in a conference room.

If you have a EMTa cable modem (comcast digital phone) unplug it. It'll also run on battery. (not sure how long)

Yeah, I'm sure it violates a ton of safety codes.

BTW, power is back on now. I still had battery power but eventually my internet connection dropped out. Seems like comcast was affected by the blackout too.
