Damn, anyone else not like excessively bloody/violent movies?

I enjoy gore when it's done in a humerous or "campy" fasion. But I can't say that I'm fond of scenes like the doc getting mowed down in Saving Private Ryan and everyone trying to plug a whole...or the leg wound with the retracting artery that they had in Black Hawk Down...something about the seriousness of it makes it harder to swallow.

Well, when you know the movie is based on a true story, it definitley makes it harder to take.

I enjoy excessively bloody/violent parts where it fits with the storyline. Things like Schindler's List should be quite bloody and violent (in fact I think that movie was too tame).

I however disagree with most violent movie philosophies: if it is gory enough, then there need not be a plot. Those movies suck.

I like seeing it... lots of it.

However, when it completely has no point other than shock value, I hate it. Most 'scary' movies fit that description.

it depends if it's stylized gore, or just gratutious gore. I hate the monotony of films like "house of a 1000 corpses". Gore in and of itself is not a story, and isn't horror.
