So how long before Americans stop giving a shit about their politician's personal lives and start giving more of a shit about their actual job performance. You know like in real life. I know it's a public position and they have a public face but it's still stupid. I don't give a shit if the CEO of Intel is banging hookers right left and centre, I care about how fast their next processor is and how expensive it will be. Likewise I don't care if my local MP is cheating on his wife, I care if he does or doesn't support that new law that will make it illegal to wear pink shirts on Sundays. Sure let the tabloids have a field day with the guy and humiliate him in front of the public, he brought that on himself, but to force him to quit because he is "supposed to be better than that" is just hypocritical. Frankly the ones I trust the least are often the ones with squeaky clean images.

Sadly, some don't give a shit already, and for the rest, hopefully they will continue to care about moral standards and ethics of the people we put in office to represent us.

Btw, he hasn't quit, but he's proven to be a bold faced liar, so he might as well. He will come back though when he becomes a better politician, aka a better liar.
