Yeah. I copied some video and mp3s to it to test out my new @migo 600C PocketPC. Then, when I put the Microdrive in, it made this high pitched noise that descended in pitch. It also asked to format the drive, and couldn't see the files. I let it format, but it gave an error. I took it out and put it back in a few times. I then tested in in my USB CompactFlash reader, but it didn't work.

Good thing I'm under warranty, although the serial number on the drive shows that it isn't. I bought 2 when there was that deal for $70 at Iomega. Hopefully they didn't change the warranty terms since it was a clearance sale (I think).

That ruined my night. Anyone know how Iomega is with warranty service?

Viper GTS

I wouldnt be suprised if Iomega made a production run under license from IBM. Outsourcing is getting more and more popular.

As an Amigo owner mysef hopefully I can help you here.. It is not necessary to format your storage card even though you will be asked to. Most important, make sure you have "My Documents" as your root folder, without it Amigo will not recognize any of your files. Hope this helped.

microdrives have high failure rates, relatively speaking, but still high =\
