Why not just save your money and buy a new laptop? The Averatec's are nice and start at about $500.00

MUST BUY ALL NEW COMPUTER HARDWARE!!! really tho, why would you pay 80 bucks to fix an old laptop when you can buy a new one for about 600-parting out your old laptop.

People still pay 300+ for P3 class systems depending on accessories...

It's not mine. The deal is if I can fix it I can keep it.

What's broken right now is the mobo and possibly the CPU. I want to keep cost minimial, and I don't need a laptop right now. :):beer:

Don't sweat it though, it happens to me all the time. Be happy you're not like the morons that get caught up in the bidding wars and end up paying more than they should've.

Laptops hold serious value! Most people don't need a super powerful laptop. A P2 or P3 system with a decent amount of RAM is perfect for most people that also have a powerful desktop at home. P2 or P3, 256 meg of RAM, plus Email/Internet/Office + good battery makes a perfect laptop.
