Dammit, I just told off my boss....

My boss is reactionary too, and likes to plan last minute trips to other countries as well, but he doesn't invite me!

WTF are you complaining about again? 😕

Perhaps we are too quick to judge. Maybe the country is Iraq and the products the company produces are large format Bibles and Crusader Rabbit memorabilia reproduction gear.

I guess we'd have to go ahead and call this syringerization until further notice.

My boss's management style is completely "reaction". He only reacts to whatever anyone else does.

So he came over to me today and suggested a trip for him and I to go to our plant. This would be a one week trip for me. My first reaction was "So where did this come from? You just came up with this idea?" Keep in mind that our plant is a totally different division of the company. Their president suggested that we come up about 2 months ago, but my manager didn't do anything at the time.

He says nothing for two months, and now he wants me to plan a one week trip to a different country before the end of the year.

I'll trade you jobs if you want man!!?? lol

Oh noes! An expenses paid trip to another country! The sheer agony and horror.... aaaaahhhhhh!!!

Some people have families or don't want to go to SE Asia for any reason. I'd be pissed if I had to go to Japan for 6 months.

I have a family and I will not be spending 6 months in another country.
I don't mind traveling when there is a reason. I don't care to spend time in another country when there is not much purpose and very little benefit.

Keeping your job isn't enough of a benefit?

There are other jobs out there. There is no reason to spend 6 months on the other side of the globe. I have too many things going on here.

Okay, but where was the telling-off of your boss? Are you hijacking your own thread?

Well, 6 months is a little bit different than the 1 week business trip you ranted about in your OP.

Nothing came of telling off the boss... I was a little pissed off that he waited until now to tell me about spending a week somewhere else, and then last night about 5 minutes before I'm ready to go home, he sent me the schedule where I have to spend 6 months in Japan. So, it makes the one week trip look rather trivial.
