Ordered something last Friday, it shipped that day and is supposed to be 2 day delivery. Check the status this morning and it shows it arrived in town over the weeked, yesterday morning in fact. Woo hoo right? Wrong. In the details it says "2 day delievery, package not due for delivery. Do not deliver before 8/30." WTF? It is here so just put it on the damn truck and get it to me.

I've seen that before, it's as if FedEx doesn't want to be too good.

You'd think it'd be cheaper for them to deliver it as soon as they get it

They could just deliver it, but they want to give you a reason to buy overnight shipping.

No, they would lose money if they delivered them early because people would stop paying the premium for next-day delivery.

I know, but what a moronic policy. Oh we have it, we could deliver it, but we won't.

Fedex delivers to me early all the time. I constantly get express saver from Newegg and always get it the next day.

Then UPS is more efficient.. for me at least. If its already here theyll deliver it. That way I know when to expect the package instead of playing guessing games with FedEx.

In this case he paid for Two-Day. With Ground or Express they can deliver whenever since there's no time block set. If they delievered early on Two-Day they'd feel like they were giving Overnight for substantially less than Overnight cost. Bad for business.

its the reverse for me. Fedex will deliver it if its here at our local hub early. UPS won't. and they are about 3 blocks from our office too.
