So I twist my ankle this morning getting out of the car (that odd place where the concrete meets the lawn), the concrete is about 2 inches taller than the lawn.
I blow it off all day thinking it will feel better, but finally realize that something is really wrong. and I need to have it examined. I go to the local 'urgent care' for an X-ray and dammit it's fractured! No cast needed but I have to wear a brace and use a cane for at least 10 days...

So now I am in a brace and have to use a cane for my left leg.

I feel so old.....:(

i can't describe how i felt when i found out my neck injuries were permanent at a relatively young age.

The surgeon told me that i only had - statistically speaking - a <1% chance of full recovery . . . :p
:(

Well, he was wrong - or i was the lucky 1% :)

be glad it is temporary . . . and be careful!

while in vegas a week ago, a girl about 17 tapped me on the shoulder and said "excuse me, sir". I realized then that i had become my father. Outside of people that work in customer service, i had never been called "sir" before. :(

I'm 27.

If you were watercooled like the rest of us, you wouldn't have this problem...

How much did that trip to the "urget care" cost you?

wear sneakers, and start walking around at work making snide, sarcastic, witty comments. Try to hide your English accent, too, Dr. House.

Oh man, make sure you take care of yourself. My dad just had the same thing happen (not helping your age situation, I know), and he was told he would be off of work for a week or so... he ended up being off for 8 because it just kept getting work. STAY OFF OF IT!

Moderately herniated neck disk with all the rest bulging. . . . i was sitting in my VW van at a red light when i was rear-ended by a Honolulu city bus [traveling about 30mph]. :(

acupuncture "saved" me although it took well over 3 years of treatment to become completely pain free. ;)

I don't think I'd use a cane. I'd get some huge fancy walking stick like Gandolf in LotR or something. Then I'd look so cool. :)

"Sir Used as an honorific before the given name or the full name of baronets and knights."

It has nothing to do with you, she just happened to be a polite person. I say "sir" to anybody above 20. Otherwise I say "hey kid".
