for expired inspection

but the ticket has the wrong color?
my car is silver/grey but on the ticket is say it's black?

what do you think?

A lot of states have laws where that ticket can be dismissed : IF you get the inspection done within 10 days. Call the local city authorities first to check this out, and if they are no help, contact a local traffic lawyer and ask, they usually will answer a brief question or two during a 'free phone consultation'. Good luck!

no such thing in NY to dismiss within 10 days 🙁

but I did find this

Is the ticket written correctly?http://www.nyc.gov/html/dof/ht...7pdf/parking_guide.pdf

A ticket is defective when a required element

under the law is missing or misdescribed.

Defective tickets may be dismissed even if you

do not have another defense to a charged

violation.When conducting a hearing, Finance

will review recently issued summonses for

these defects and if any defects are found

Finance will dismiss the tickets.

so maybe 🙂

There is usually a clause that says minor mistakes on a ticked to not invalidate the ticket. Only important stuff like your name, etc.

Doesn't hurt to try. I got one too (and I'm in NY too)... I just think of it as contributing to help building roads.

If everything fails, just take it as an expensive lesson. I'll surely get mine done ahead of time from now on.

In most states you can have a registration or inspection ticket dismissed easily. All you have to do is go get the car inspected, and present that proof of inspection to a court clerk, and usually pay a $10-20 court fee. (ie dumb-ass fee)

Trying to throw out a ticket due to the car colour being wrong will completely fail, and result in you paying the full fine, and still having to pay to get your car inspected.

I would consult this book: http://beatthatparkingticket.com/

I know the author. IIRC, wrong color on the ticket should get you out of it.

Thanks for the link
my bro (nypd) spoke to a traffic cop and was told it will be thrown out for defect!! 🙂
any thing on a ticket that is incorrect is a defect (in NYC)

wow all you ppl who say blah blah blah get caught pay it blah blah blah
