Rats. Sometimes being in management sucks.

There is an administrative assistant that I see just about every day when I walk into the breakroom for juice or water. Her office is on the corner by the breakroom.

Anyway, she looks absolutely stunning today. A pleated skirt and blouse that just... wow, is all I can say. But I can't tell her how beautiful she is. I've been attending management courses within the company for my position (IS project manager) and one of them is "Manager Relationships." Basically, anything I say about a person's demeanor, personality, appearance and deportment is subject to sexual harassment investigations unless it is to warn the employee about not meeting office standards. (Basically I can tell someone that they are a slob but I cannot tell them they are beautiful.)

I do not manage her directly but as a manager I cannot even comment on her appearance, not because I am afraid of lawsuit, but because someone else might hear it. Even if the commnet is not directed at a person, that person can still find me at fault for causing an unsafe or hostile work environment.

:(

And no, no pics. Only she can authorize the use of her image and it would be another breach of managerial conduct to even ask to take her pic for the purpose of showing you yahoos.

"hi. Honey you had such an impact on me that I just quit my job so we can go out.

How does 7:00 sound?"

so just go in the bathroom for a few minutes.. "think about the situation" and come back and realize that it's not meant to be. Sorry to hear it - it's tough to have a really attractive coworker with whom you may have a good chance.

If push comes to shove, find a new job, then hit it.

If you really quit to ask her out, I think either she would be spooked or flattered.

But no one in their right mind would do that sort of thing.

maybe ask her out. tell her you would like to take her to dinner or something. you can say what you want outside of work. just don't "sexually harass" her or show any sign of a relationship at work. Or the sexual harrassment panda will come and kick your a$$.

So yeah. Ask her out. I don' think asking someone out is considered sexual harrassment.

You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw your face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,
'Cause I'll never be with you.

Wrong, you are still liable outside of the work environment if you are a superior of some type. It is pretty ridiculous, but true.

I guess that's the price you pay. It is sad but at the same time I undertand the rules. It is afterall her job and she actually have the right not to get hit on at work.
That's why I don't even try to dip in the company ink and I'm not even a manager.

invite her out for lunch. girls arent blind, they know when they look pretty. just that extra little bit of attention she should figure out to be a compliment.
