Looks stupid, if it has to be in that damn case, or even make your wallet thicker. My CRKT is half the thickness because it doesn't need a case!

Yes, stealthily. Its made to fit into your hand and you sneak up behind your intended target.
Remember, the jugular is the most exposed vein to get to. Theres also one under your collar bone but this requires a longer blade and more precision strike to get to. At that point the heart becomes a viable target, and even if you miss you can still get the lungs. Either or will put a person down quickly. Heart faster obviously. Another strike is the upper thigh striking the main leg artery.
For the jugular, make sure you slash across the jugular as deeply an possible. The neck muscles and very tough so its difficult to actually slash a throat. Think of cutting a tough steak. So be prepared, you cant wimp around on it. Grab your victim FIRMLY from behind with one hand and cover his mouth. Use your other hand to quickly and FORCEFULLY cut along the side of his neck to sever the jugular.
Or, it could just be a cool utility knife to carry instead of a pocket knife too.

But thats not damascus. Thats swissassus, and I dont do swissassus.
Pattern-welded steel (the popular kind of "Damascus" nowadays) can be, and usually is, acid etched to bring out the pattern, IIRC.Originally posted by: GagHalfrunt

This crap isn't Damascus either. Damascus steel picks up the pattern in the blade from the way the steel is welded, folded, forged, rewelded, refolded, reforged ad infinitum. That is just ordinary steel acid etched to make it look like Damascus steel. It's like sticking a Rolls Royce hood ornament on a Hyundai.

Looks like wootz steel to me (I know real Damascus is wootz steel, but nobody sells wootz anymore).Originally posted by: GagHalfrunt

The blade is bathed in acid to bring out the natural pattern of the laminated and folded steel layers. This crap is NOT Damascus, Damascus steel has a random pattern depending on the impurities in the steel and the way it's worked. Every blade is unique and every blade is different from point to point on the blade. This junk is ordinary steel with the acid painted on in a specific pattern. Look at the blades, they're symmetrical.
THIS is what real Damascus steel looks like.
